The user is required to complete the Classo form. After the form completion, Classo will submit the pledge to the GA Dept. of Revenue for approval. After completing the first two steps, the user is required to create a Classo account. The user can update, and manage personal information using a Classo account.
A user will get an approval letter from the GA DOR once the pledge submission is approved. Classo sends an email notification to the taxpayer mentioning the approved donation amount, letter ID, and Certificate number.
The user will have 60 days to donate from the date of the approved letter/email from Classo.
Parents can complete scholarships on the Classo website
The user will get the credit receipt in January.
A tax credit program to reimburse qualified education expenses was created by the Georgia General Assembly in 2008. The program enabled individuals and businesses to make tax-credit donations to non-profit organizations that utilize the donated amount to fund educational scholarships to private schools in Georgia.
The Georgia Qualified Education Expense (QEE) Tax Credit Program allows individuals and businesses to claim every dollar they donate as tax credit to non-profit organizations. Here is the limit for claiming the tax credit donation:
The amount of tax credits that can be taken is limited to the donor’s tax liability or actual donation amount, whichever is less.
